Welcome to my World

Welcome to my little corner of the vast God planned domain. I plan to share mostly my card projects here, you might even possible see some scrapping, quilt projects, and photography. Who knows I may even try other other craft projects. I am also going to share a selection of little recipe cards I have collected over the past few years - scrapped, of course. There may even be some little things of greatness of my daily life. Every now and then, I might even vent!

These are a couple of cards i made for the SCS Cuttlebug/Big Shot/Sizzix, etc. Twisted Swap. The twist is that you need to use 2 different Cuttlebug (or another company--does not need to be CB) folders or dies on your card. Therefore, I did two spots for this swap.

Teal Card: Big Shot Top Note and Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing Panel
Paper: Bermuda Bay, DP one of the Christmas packs, Whisper White
Accessories: Ribbon and Metal Sentiments.
I first cut the top note in half then on the pointed end I slit the paper at the perforations and threaded the ribbon and tied a know. This was more difficult than I thought it would be so I had to use lots of adhesive. Then placed the two metal sentiments.

Darker card: Top Not from Big Shot again and the Ornament Embossing Panel by Cuttle bug. Also used the SU Ornament Punch.
Paper: Whisper White, Another DP from a Christmas pack (double sided), Chocolate chip
Accessories: Silver ribbon.
Punched ornament is stamped with delightful Ornament little stamp

I hope the recipients of these cards like them.

What a Project

No I am not done with the room yet. I have enough stuff to opena small store of my own I am sure. What ever possesses one to buy so much stuff. My goal thie rest of this year will be to use what I have and buy no more. HA HA I will post some pictures when I get done - if ever. Going to church this am and then onto the room again the afternoon. Thanks for all of the comments and encouragement. I do have to get a couple cards done for a swap sometime also. Out the door to start a great day. God Bless You All

First things first

I am home today because there is no school and I do not work on nonschool days. YEAH
BUT instead I am starting to dig the junk out of my house. Today I am redoing my scrap and craft room while I am ambitious. Will blog and catch up on some other things later. Even plan to give up a day of scrapping tomorrow to hopefully get another room completed.

Wish me luck or BETTER yet come help me and haul some of my things to your house.

A couple more cards designed by the gals at the LSS. I just love the cricut squirrel. I just need to use my cricut more often. Maybe if I rearrange my craft room and set it up that would lhelp. Ha Ha

What a past month

I have been working 10-12 hours a day just to get the huge office of 25 people moved to a new building. Seems that once most had their space in order to heck with the rest of us and the rest of the stuff like office supplies and needs. Only 3 of us have been working these long hours to get things together and then not to mention the double workload I have been given this year. I have been given the caseload of my plus another whole secretary we lost to budget cuts. Oh well, I can persevere in the Lord who strengthens me.

We have been very busy on the weekends also trying to get a little camping in and a few other things. The first weekend of Sept we stayed home and did a lot of things aroudn the house but still not nearly what needs to be done. I also worked on several swaps that weekend.

The following weekend Dan and I trav eled to Montana to spend with my parents. I told mom I wanted to come over and have no phones, no TV if not wanted do absolutely nothing that did not need to happen. We slept in every day with my parents instead of the 5 am arising. Played lots of cards. Dan and I took a two hour trip on their 4 wheeler and had a great time enjoying the country, mountains and the splendor of God. Took Mom and Dad to dinner and had a great time.

Last week - Fri thru Sun - I with 11 other gals from our Church went to a Womens Retreat at the Cannon Beach Conference Center on the Oregon coast. What an uplifting time. Left a lot of things there for the Lord to handle in my life. What a great past two weekends spening time with friends and family and the great creator. Needless to say things got a little behind at home but I am learning they are not as important as what I had done the past two weekend.

Tried to work shorter hours this past week and did a few things around the house as my daughter came home from across the state for the weekend. We had a fabulous time Fri. Christine stopped by my new office at work on her way to the house. One of the gals leaned over and said, afte she left, shut it down and go spend some mommy daughter time, you deserve it. So went home, picked up her, had a pedicure, went to Subway for dinner and chat, then to the movie Julie & Julia. What a time. Yesterday went to a football game at her alma mater, Whitworth University. The Pirates won. Then met her brother, Eric and the four of us went to dinner. Came home and watch more college football games.

Off to church today, then to lunch with some friends, and then to the Green Bluff area to pick fresh fruits and vegetables. She will be going home tomorrow am as she does not have to work tomorrow.

Hope to get some of my cards made in the past month posted later today. Have a great week and GOD Bless You All.

Saturday's Scrap Event

We left Spokane about 8 am to drive 75 miles to a scrap event near WSU. GO COUGARS. Arrived around 9:30. I put together a couple of page kits and then by 10:30 I was working on this 2 page mosaic layout. The pictures were all taken on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. There are 100 1" squares on each page. Took me 7 hours to do the 2 pages, then I started on some cards that I did not get completed.

SCS Sketch Challenge 194

I used SCS Sketch Cahllenge 194 for this card. Trying to get a head start on some of my fall cards. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/search.php?searchid=8559801 I really like the large medallion so used it for this card (get two cards out of one medallion) once again.

Recipe: Medallion stamp colored with my reinkers and q-tips. easiest way I find to get a good coverage and more than one color applied.
Paper and Inks: all SU - Pumpkin Pie, Ruby Red, Summer Fun, Creamy Caramel and Garden Green.
Cut the Medallion piece first and then cut the other pieces to fit around it and onto the base of Garden Green. Stamped with the Thank You stamp from the Upsy Daisy set.

Two Fun cards for today

Here is the card I also cased from Stamp Muse.
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...;ppuser=177892 Love the polka dots so I used them also.
Changes:
Card size & Layout: I used full size card instead of a squares one
Colors: I used light Mauve Bazill dots, Rich Razzlesbery, White
Stamp: was from my stash by Sugarlof Products, Inc.
Ribbon - Polka Dot Rich Razzlesberry from SU

Thanks for this great feateured stamper.

This is a brayered background card for a swap I needed to make. I inked the brayer with my Stampin Spots in alternating stripes of pink and green, then added a few dots of yellow here and there and ran the brayer over that. Let dry and aseemble card. Very simple.
Recipe: Greeting from Stampin Up Upsy Daisy set
Paper: Pixie Pink, So Saffron, Green Galore, White, Tea Party DP
Ink: Pixie Pink and Green Galore
Accessories: Flower punch, Silk flowers, crystal gems

I needed a card for a black and white swap. Did not know what I wanted to do so searched the gallery and the light bulb came on quickly when I saw Clownmom's layout. I was on a mission then as it inspired me. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...&cat=17303 Thanks Clownmom.

I just received this stamp set and wanted to use it really bad. Well I did not have paintchips on hand so DH and I headed off to the store. While there I think we found the dishwasher we want and are very much in need.

As you can see everything I used was is Black and white. I think it turned out really great. The paintchip goes from a dark gray to black.

Varigated Medallion

First off I will admit that I cased: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...?&si=WT231
I used my little stampin' spots to ink the medallion and then stamped it once full-colored and stamped again using the lightened version. Added some Rhinestones to the medallion and a sentiment

Stamps: Medallion SU
Paper: White and Tempting Turquoise
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Brilliant Blue, Green Galore, Glorious Green, Orchid Opulence, Lovely Lilac
Accessories: Teal Ribbon. Rhinestones
Techniques: Using Variagated

Another Sketch

I liked the paper so much on the card below that I tackled another SCS Sketch challenge.

Recipe: Stamps - Razzle Dazzle
Paper- Tea Party DP, Pretty in Pink, Basic Gray, Certainly Celery, So Saffron.
Ink - Basic Gray
Very Simple anyone could do this one. The three gray squares are 3" and the tops are 2 3/4" each. Offset and it is complete.

Two Challenges in one Card

I made this card using two challenges posted this week - The Color challenge: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=453063 and teh Sketch Challenge: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=453293. Not often do I get to do even one challenge but thse both worked great this week.

Recipe: Bleached the chocolate chip with Upsy Daisy and one of the greeting in that set. Mounted to Certainly Celery but 1/2 inch longer for the button placement. The designer paper I used is SU Tea Party which is two-sided, just reversed for the smaller piece. These were mounted on the Chocolate Chip again and then on the Certainly Celery Card Base.

Be sure to checkout Splitcoaststampers.com for the instruction to links above and mnay other great ideas. There are hundreds of other bloggers there where you can pick up ideas also.

Recipe - Spinach Corn Salad

Another Recipe for those interested. This is a very good salad.

Today is my first day back to work after being off for 5 weeks. Wish me luck as we were supposed to be moved by now but things are packed and we are not moving now until the end of Sept. Will probably have quite a bit to do to get the place back in order.

Tree Trimmings #2 - Christmas in July

Here is another card I just made using the Tree Trimmings Stampin Up set. Love this little set.

Recipe: Tree Trimmings stamp set
Paper: SU Candy Lane DP, Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette, Close to Cocoa, Riding Hood Red
Inks in same colors to match
Embellished with: Silver Brds and a Senti-Metals piece that says "Merry Christmas"

This is a card I made for SCS swap "Christmas in July". I think I like these colors together. The patterned paper looks like wall paper with ornaments hanging in the window.

Recipe: Stamps: SU Tree Trimmings
Paper: SU Holiday Treasure DP, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Ink: Melon Mambo, Bermuida Bay, Chocolate Chip & Basic Black
Add Brown Silk Ribbon to the top for embellishment.
