Welcome to my World

Welcome to my little corner of the vast God planned domain. I plan to share mostly my card projects here, you might even possible see some scrapping, quilt projects, and photography. Who knows I may even try other other craft projects. I am also going to share a selection of little recipe cards I have collected over the past few years - scrapped, of course. There may even be some little things of greatness of my daily life. Every now and then, I might even vent!

Faux Grid Card Challenge

Here is another one I did this am. Soft Summer Two -Step Stampin. I also used in Colors Crushed Curry and Rich Razzleberry for this card. Wow - took over an hour to get two cards. I messed up so many times becasue I got the stamps mounted so opposites are on the end and I would stamp the trunks in the leave and vice versa. Finally got a layout I liked.

The challenge on Splitcoasters today was a Faux Grid Card. I am loving the In Color sso much I use them for everything. Here is my sample - quite simple:

So let's begin - for this project, you will need:
cardstock
stamps
ruler
pen
(not required, but very handy - a piece of grid paper to work on)

1. Stamp your images in various random locations on your cardstock
2. Draw lines with a pen at equal intervals across your page, skipping over those images you have stamped. This is where the grid paper comes in handy. If you place your stamped cardstock onto a piece of grid paper, it makes it easier to measure and draw your lines.
3. Turn your cardstock 90 degrees and draw lines with a pen at equal intervals, creating a grid which your images seem to float upon.
4. For interest, color a few of your squares in colors that coordinate with the rest of your project.

I am making several of thse cards to send to Card for a Cause - Cancer Center: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=443223
