Welcome to my World

Welcome to my little corner of the vast God planned domain. I plan to share mostly my card projects here, you might even possible see some scrapping, quilt projects, and photography. Who knows I may even try other other craft projects. I am also going to share a selection of little recipe cards I have collected over the past few years - scrapped, of course. There may even be some little things of greatness of my daily life. Every now and then, I might even vent!

Another Recipe

Is there anyone else out there that love to do recipes? I love seeing what others do with these little 4x6 cards. Thanks in advance for sharing and looking.
I know it has been more than a week since I last posted a recipe. Here is one I did for a swap recently. I have been a little behind on my creating. I am currently making 10 little boxes for a wedding that is in just over a month. Will post when one is complete. They are in stages right now. All 10 boxes are folded, next to do the lid part and then decorate.

Father's Day

My Father's Day card is really quite simple. My dad is a simple non-complex gentleman. You always know where he stands. He has told us some very great stories over the years of the days gone by and this card suits him grand. He will be 90 this Dec and I will always treasure his stories. He still is quite spry and has a lot of spunk and can still tell the stories of yesteryear but has shown his age the last couple of years.

Smile

Good morning, I just wanted to post a quick little note since it has been a few days since I was here. I am sending this card I made over a year ago to someone for a swap so thought it would go great with this message. It is Friday and that always makes me smile to know we only have just 20 more days of work then a 6 weeks break. The stress is just terribly overwhelming at work right now, thus I look so forward to the weekends. Hope everyone has a great day. Say a little prayer for me to make it through without anymore anxiety attacks.

What a Retreat

I do not think I have laughed so hard in my life. I know I almost wet my pants about a dozen times to say the least. My cheeks hurt so bad when I went to bed after the first night. We had a gal from Bethel AK that used to work in our school district, a gal from CA, one from OR, a couple from ID, about 5 from MT and the rest from WA which include the husband of our organizer. He did the hard work - ha.ha. Miss Bethel was just hilarious telling about the stories out in the bush where she now lives and work with about 48 tribes through a hospital. I sure do miss her at our monthly crops she also attended. Then a gal I have not had a chance to scrap with from right here in Spokane was able to attend and she is such a hoot and we laugh so hard and loud that four of us at the retreat got kicked out of a CM consultants home about 5 years ago because we were too loud for her other customers. Sorry to say she was out of business about a year after that. Sleep, about 9 hours in 2 night, late night and early mornings. Accomplished, yes I actually did do some of this. I made 4 sets of the One Sheet Wonder cards and sold 2 sets while there and have orders for two sets after just talking to a compadre at work today. I will post a sample of each into a spot in the next few days. I am in the yellow floral shirt near the center of the picture. Oh yes, Bernard, the monkey, also goes to everything and everywhere with the 4 rebels, and the owner whose head he is sitting upon.

Scrapping Retreat

I am leaving in just about 30 mintues to a scrapbooking retreat for 3 days. I will be back with details and lists of things I got done on Sunday evening. That is if I am not ready for bed. No, I do not get alot of sleep at one of these. There will be about 32 of us from WA, ID & MT. It is a great time to see those from ID & MT. Most of the ones from WA I work with in our school district or have at one time or another. My hopes are to finish a couple recipe books I have been making as wedding show gifts, work on my Alaska cruise album (we took the cruise 2 years ago). Get as many sets of OSW cards done as possible, I think I have at least 6 sets coordinated to work on. Anyways, everyone have a great weekend and talk to you all when I return Sunday.

One sheet wonder Challenge

This has been one of my passions lately. Most of my family member said to me it is time for a nother pack of cards, I am almost out. I made all of my female relatives a package of 10 cards one year for Chritsmas. I guess it is time again so I am pulling out the OSW and doing cards that way this time around. Now i challenge you to make a set of cards and show them off on your site and give to a friend or family member. Here is a site I use for my template https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikPve1oKPF5ED0UteyIWFaobEkSw5q7QE6rrNk9ybefUOFkXDHaOPwC53Wa9P1xTn2Ce_SJ227GmjY9a-YidJjoWThCMYeLQIUxuL076LW96cOB3LJZ-cQSYvYGAG49xtrMPiXzucc1xx1/s1600-h/DSCN5068+copy.jpg

Newest Cards

I have had this set of stamps for quite sometime and needed a quick gift for a friend. I made one card with each stamp using this sketch and my bigshot. I just love Stampin Up products. This paper is double sided so I just cut the rectangles 4x5 1/4 and reverse some of them to get a good variety. Cut out the Die and pulled the outer rings apart and mix and matched them. Got 6 very cute cards in no time at all, yet very pretty and elegant. She absolutely loved them all and wants more.

Where has the time gone

This month has gone by so fast. I just do not know where it has gone. Only 30 working days and I will have 6 weeks off to enjoy. I can hardly wait. Our office atmosphere is so tense right now. There are a lot of school budget cuts and our whole Special Ed department is being reconfigured. Noone knows for sure what is going to happen for next year yet.

1. We have been leasing, at a high rate, an office space in a industrial area and we are moving to an older school that is being somewhat remodeled during the summer. There are over 100 people in our department and only half are going to the new office into just a few rooms. Two groups of 12-14 each are going into portables. The other half into 2-3 offices. The remainder of the 100+ will be housed in schools themselves.

2. The other huges is issue is who packs, moves, unpacks and sort everything out. I feel I will be stuck with quite abit of it as I have been in our office area the longest, others have children and do not want to give up any of their summer. Also we are trying to buy and update some of the equipment and the tech gal will be going on maternity leave just after we are started up again in the fall.

There fore lots, of tension amoung the many and very few answers at this time. I just pray that things go smoother than we usually expect. Will spend quite a bit of time doing some posting and updating this weekend. Want to get some more cards and things on the site. Thanks for taking the time to look and please send up little prayers.

Recipe of the Week

I have been doing recipes swap s for quite some time now and am going to try to post a new recipe each week. I try to keep my cards really simple and fairly flat in order to keep them from getting caught on one another and to get more in my box. My next project will be to make a handcrafted box to store them in.
This recipe is a favorite of my family. We especially like to make it around the holidays . Very festive looking and a great gift wrapped in red or green celephane topped with a big bow and a copy of the recipe.

A friend...
Is What the Heart Needs all the Time.Another card for one of my swap groups. This was a challenge on SCS and I had a lot of fun doing it, tho getting the window to turn out not too deep for the envelope was also a challenge. I have enjoyed doing many of the challenges on the SCS site; just wish I had more time to do them. I have also challenged myself this year to use each of my stamp sets at least 10 times or ebay them. I have quite a collection - maybe I will get more use out of them now that I have become a Stampin Up consultant. I love their paper and stamps. Thus , I have way more cards than I can ever use so have been donating them to Cards for Cause or charities thta can use them. If you know of a charity that like to use handmade cards to make someone's day please let me know and I will see how I can fulfill that wish. I love creating cards and thing to make others happy and thank my God for giving me the patience and talents.I pray each of you have a great day today and always. Smile it brightens other lives as well as your own.

So Much Fun - God Is Wonderful

hursday, March 5, 2009

I had such a great time putting my blog spot together last night. Today I was home yet with this horrible cold so I had a great time going through and paying all of our monthly bills. After that hubby and I talked about our plans for my Spring Break in just about 3 weeks. We have reservations for the Oregon Coast, one of my favs. Talked about where we will go and things we will do. I can hardly wait to get out of town. We did not go on any long or short-term, for that matter, vacation last summer. Dan started with chest pain in June and from there spent 2 days (July 34-) in hospital and received two stents. One week later (July 11-12) did the same thing again - yes two more stents. Came home and then next evening (July 12-13) thru ER and an ambulance ride for two days spent in the hospital with a high fever due to a heart attack that day. Could not do much of anything all summer so on September 26 had another day in the hospital only to be told everything was working fine. Finally on October 25 he could not stand it any longer and we found a new cardiologist and he said there was nothing he could do, just exercise it off. A week later went to another Cardio guy and he said in the hospital in three days. One of the stents has blocked an artery. So he had an angiogram October 28, and was told going nowhere but admitted to hospital unti lwe can do surgery after the Plavix leaches out of systems. Well guess what 8 days later (Nov4) he had open heart surgery and a quad bypass performed. Loved this team of guys. Today he went for his 4 mo check and DR says eveything is lokking good considering he cracked a spot alost 2 months ago. Yes he was bad in dec & Jan and helped friends shovel our 5 feet of snow in a week. I am so excited that is behind us. Thanks for listening to my rambling. I know all along that all of the prayers and best wishes and God's hand with those drs that he came through OK.

Where do I begin?

I have had a lot of fun setting up this blogspot. I have changed it a million times and think it is time I go to bed. Bed - what is that. Thanks Terry for the inspiration. I have also checked out several blogs from Splitcoaststampers site this evening and gotten may great ideas. I do have to say Splitcoaststampers has give me a new outlook on life. I have read so many devotional and testimonies since the beginning of the year when I got quite active. I think I spend all of my spare time creating to give anymore. yet feel so blessed and fulfilled by doing this. Please feel free to leave comments and let me know what you think.

Bashful Brown Bunny

Bashful Brown Bunny

This card was made for a swap group that I belong to on Yahoo Group. I love this stamp. My goal this year was to use each and every(over 50) stamps at least twice. This was such a fun hard to make and sure hope the recipients enjoy it also.
